Margaret (Hairuo) Sun
Margaret is a master's student at Columbia Journalism School, graduating in May 2024. She is passionate about multimedia storytelling in the dynamic intersection of culture and society. Leveraging her studies in art history at Yale and drawing from her cross-cultural experiences, she writes, interviews, and creates short documentaries.
With a keen eye on the Gen Z zeitgeist, Margaret directed, produced, and anchored a four-episode, in-depth interview show, reflecting on the quarter-life crossroads spanning across China and the US. Expanding on the project, she is filming a video profile series that delves into the diverse journeys of young Chinese internationals in New York City.
